Loren Ryan

Loren Ryan is a First Nations Australian and comes from the Gamilaraay people native to Northwest, New South Wales. She is renowned for combining her love of music and language, showcasing both through a creatively captivating splendor. Writing original songs and translating well known Australian songs into her "ngamba dhalaay" mothers’ tongue – Gamilaraay.

Loren’s most recent release is a cover of Aussie Classic Flame Trees, a version which saw Cold Chisel give their personal blessing to. Listen here.

Launching into the music scene at 18 years old, she has since been working as a full-time musician, building a fan base right across regional and metro NSW. With a voice that drizzles emotion every performance, best described as a mixture of soul and R&B, these fervent tones resonate over a modern acoustic grassroots sound. 

Highlights over the years include singing a duet with her idol Jessica Mauboy on the main stage at the Gympie Music Muster, performing as a headline act at Yabun Festival Sydney and harmonising with American superstar Kelly Rowland during Loren's live audition for The Voice.

Loren is an engaging performer, she lives and breathes to share her unique artistry with the people of her home country and one day, the world. 

NEWS: ABC Kids Listen have invested in Loren as a songwriter and are funding the recording of an album to be released January 2022. Music for all ages, an album including original songs and covers all featuring her traditional language, Gamilaraay.

Loren will feature in the second instalment of the highly anticipated ABC TV Series Going Country with Justine Clarke on the 9th of November.
